Grrrr this shows how deperate I am for a sail at the moment. Exams next week, the faintest of forecasts for a sailable sea breeze, yet still I go down to the beach. Gave myself the excuse that I needed to pick up some repaired stuff from Andy Biggs in Gosport (which I did), but it was all just a ruse so I could see what it was like at Hillhead on my way back.

Pants, is the answer. Went to Salterns Park first and it was no way sailable...kiters were out having a good time, also a few windsurfers but none planing. Gave up and got back in the car, but decided to drive back past Meon Shore..... Couldn't go past without stopping to have a look, and cor blimey it was windier! Wasn't sure if this was just a brief increase in the wind strength, or Meon Shore being windier than Salterns Park (as it often seems to be). Was enough to tempt me into rigging up though. Of course as soon as I hit the water the wind dropped off again GRRRR. Blobbed around for half-an-hour then came back in.

Weather was gorgeous though, felt like being abroad, and was good to be outside, even if the wind was crap.
